We’re questioned a lot on the packaging we use so we thought it better we answer a few questions:
The white hot food containers we use are made from Bagasse which is the waste material left over from when sugar cane is harvested for it’s sugar syrup. These are 100% compostable and biodegradable and sugar cane actually regrows. Our salad boxes and tub posts are all biodegradable too.
The cutlery we use, which is often mistaken for plastic, is actually made from corn and potato starch, which is 100% biodegradable and can be composted together with food.
Our labels which go on to our packaging are made from 100% recycled paper and no harmful chemicals are used to produce the paper or the print.
When it comes to recycling we ensure all of our waste is correctly recycled, from our cardboard which is broken down by us on site to the waste which is collected from site
Whilst the key focus of our business is on health and education through great tasting food, where we can we will always choose the better, more sustainable option over a few £. We are always looking at ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint and with every new Nourish that opens we’ll strive to make our carbon as minimal as possible.
